"Whatever it is that gives a band an edge, Lost Highway has it in no small measure. A professional appearance,
an entertaining stage show, original  material, smooth vocals, a traditional yet original approach and a genuine love
for bluegrass that clearly shines through to audiences."
Julie Koehler, Associate Editor, Bluegrass Now

"...they bring a freshness and intensity that is seldom heard today. This is not a band mimicking the traditional
sound; this is a traditional band that  lets you know where they come from, and they invite you along for the ride."
          Chris Stuart, columnist/songwriter

"If, as I, you’ve come to suspect in recent years that the Lost Highway band has become something more than
just one of the very best California bands, your suspicions would have been confirmed last night at the Mt. Zion
Theater in Sonora. (They) have transformed into one of the premiere bluegrass acts in the country and, judging
from their tortuous tour schedule last year, as well as the one they’ve just started in ’04, promoters from Maine
to San Diego know it. So what gives Lost Highway its “premier” status? In a word, it’s the singing. Sure, they’re
tremendous instrumentalist, but the trios that Ken and Eric and Dick pull off are just astounding. I’ve believed for
years that Orrick’s lead voice was among the top in bluegrass—now, for me at least, it’s hard to see his peer.
And Eric Uglum. Remember him from Weary Hearts, raspy and soulful? A handful of bands today can achieve
that special, goose-bumpy “wall of sound”, but Eric’s the only tenor I know of who, himself, is a wall. Truly
          incredible."
          Rick Cornish, California Bluegrass Association

"This band is single minded in their approach and very focused. Their aim is to reach the "high bar" standard of the
originators of this musical idiom, and in my judgment, they succeed and are deserving of seats at the welcome table
of bluegrass greats."
Carl Pagter, Chairman of the Board, California Bluegrass Association

"...their music seems to come from one heartbeat. They are a band in the fullest sense of the word, striving to
create music that gets down to basics - soulful singing, tasteful playing, and an easy rapport with the audience."
Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine

"... excellent traditional Bluegrass band... It's honest, sharp, and tasteful music and recommended."
Dave Freeman, County Sales

"... one of the smoothest bands I've ever heard."
Bill Grant, Founder, Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival, Hugo, Oklahoma

"Lost Highway was the buzz word at IBMA ... I just sat there mesmerized.

                    Kerry Hay, Hay Holler Records

"... The interaction between the band and audience members, both on and off the stage, impressed a lot of people.
Lost Highway has to be 'way up at the top of anyone's list of crowd pleasers. Thanks again for coming!"
Laurie Mills, Artistic Director, Shady Grove Bluegrass Festival, Alberta, Canada

"...contemporary traditional bluegrass second-level to none."
Henry Koretzky, Bluegrass Unlimited

"If country music has lost its soul, it ought to take out a magnifying glass and closely examine groups like Lost
Highway. It will find...a positive message, true stories that cut to your heart and the passing along of a fine tradition."
          Jim Dyar, Redding Record
